Calatheas are tropical plants known for their bold, patterned leaves that raise and lower from day to night, a phenomenon called nyctinasty and the source behind their nickname prayer plant. They thrive in bright, indirect light but can tolerate moderate to low light conditions. Allow the top half of soil to dry between waterings and try to provide a humid environment to keep them extra happy.
